Pick your Favorite Club Event,
Pick the Best Climb you’ve done so far…and
prepare to have them take second place to the
TOWER you will do on November the 7th or 8th…

Ancient Art
The Most Famous Sandstone TOWER in Desert.
That’s right you are going to get to climb over 250 Feet, 4 pitches, and do a final corkscrew summit that will change your life forever.

This tower would cost you over $265 per person from any guiding company in Utah, this is not an estimate this is the price all guides charge.
We just think you guys have really climbed hard this year on so many different rock types giving you a base that few climbers have.
When climbers were originally asked why they climbed they would routinely respond…..
“Because It’s There”
When the famous Layton Kor was asked the same question as to why he climbed on the Fisher Towers, he responded
“Because it Might Not Be There Tomorrow!!”

You deserve to see how good you have gotten, let your climbing efforts over the last year come to fruition on this tower.
Ancient Art has mostly sport moves, so Rock Canyon, The Curse Wall, and Cedar City will all have prepared you well. Do to the aggressive levels you’ve had to climb cracks at Capitol Reef and Indian Creek, the few crack like desert moves on Ancient Art will seem trivial. Even thought this climb is 10d. You will ALL make it to the top. We will have an aid ladder so that it can also be 5.9 A0.
You Will Have: Adam, Christian, Darren, and Jennifer as your belayers on various ledges.
All you will need is a harness, chalk bag, and a camera. I prefer you bring Metolius Personal Anchors Systems, as it will give you the most leeway on the ledges. If you don’t have one, you will need to bring a 2’ sling with a locking carabiner. No daisy chains will be allowed as they are considered dangerous for anchor systems. You will not be able to share this system; each climber will need their own. YOU HAVE TO HAVE A HELMET FOR THIS CLIMB!!! If you have aiders and easy daisies, bring them for the other towers.

I think Fisher Towers is a rare place where the realization of how truly infinite nature’s wonders are that surround you as you climb. You can’t help the feeling of endless possibilities within yourself once you pull over the top and breathe in the rare experience.

These towers are the ultimate land forms, they should not exist and the ability to climb them will change you and your climbing in ways you never fathomed.

So come for the biggest climbs of the year!
(lizard rock 5.8 entry fee, 5.10 leaping lizards Put up 1962 Harvey T. Carter)
You will have to sign up for the Ancient Art tower ahead of time. We will then assign a time for you to show up at the base and begin. There are Friday slots and Saturday slots, those who climb Ancient Art Friday will get to do more towers on Saturday.
These other towers are some rare treats that few climbers or guides can set up. I don’t think many will be able to come back and get on them, so sign up for Friday or plan your day Saturday really well once you get your assigned time.

I must admit I was stunned at the complexity of The Cobra, Sundial, High Roller, Dunce Rock and The Pinnacle. We know you can come back and lead Ancient Art, but the rest of the single pitch towers we will have top ropes on will be much more difficult to come back and lead safely. They will blow your mind; they have maple-like cobbles on disconcerting sandstone.

It isn’t crack climbing, it isn’t sport climbing, its
Fisher Tower climbing.
cobra 11.a

There is a step across to start The Pinnacle, and even though I was on DK’s top rope, it took me 4 tries to muster the courage and you get full value again on the summit even on top rope!!!
Pinnacle 5.10 with C2

Don’t worry Darren has been replacing the anchors so you don’t have to see what I saw, that’s a homemade Pin

This was taken from our campsite DK on Dunce

The camping here is amidst all the towers! Because of this there are only 5 sites, so if you see Utah Climbing Club sign on the site #, go ahead and plant your tent…up to three tents per site only one or two will fit on the nice tent platform. No Water but it does have a restroom.
Everyone will love this camping area it is my favorite place to camp (And includes that out of state camping like Yosemite).
There are great sunsets over Castleton at night.

This is a great place to bring your family, but with this event only climbing club members will be allowed to use the topropes.
Only in Fisher Towers!
Dunce A2+ Hard… Even on top rope you will have to use your aiders and daisy the same way the lead climber did!
!!!You need to email me and let me know the exact time and day you will be there. I need your response by Monday at the latest! On Wednesday, I will post the tower schedule at Mountainworks and email it .This will be a trip of a lifetime!
